Real-time animated infographics projected onto a moving model railway bring the AIT's research fields to life.

How can the algorithms behind the growing automation and digitalisation of public transport be made tangible? In preparation for the Transport Research Arena 2018, we explored this question together with Romana Kleewein and the Austrian Institute of Technology — and ultimately projected real-time animated infographics onto a moving model railway. This brought the AIT's largely highly complex fields of research closer to visitors in an accessible way. Using a native app, visitors could navigate through various scenarios and, through generative animations, learn about innovative positioning sensors for automated vehicles, the security of mobile computer systems, and the challenges of next-level 5G communication.
